Haha, what a terrible pun. I apologize profusely.
Anyway, in this article we’re going to discuss some of the crazy ways to lose weight that we’ve seen come into the world in this past couple of years. But first, to set the scene, I take you on a journey to Mexico…
One of the funniest infomercials we saw on Mexican TV was for a product called the “weight loss ring”. The science of it was flawless. You get this little gold (or some fake metal) ring that you put on your finger. You change what finger it’s on each day. That’s vital. And by wearing this ring… you lose weight. The kilo’s just start to fall off. Like magic.
This isn’t a joke either, people actually bought this thing. I assume the company had enough money to keep paying for advertising right?
Things aren’t quite as bad in the West, but sometimes you think we might be on our way there. It’s a battle just to try and work out what’s true and what’s not in the weight loss world, so we’re in constant need of people smarter than us to have tried the various products and seen for themselves whether they work or not.
Some examples of this are products like the new Sensa. Sensa is some kind of sprinkle that you shake like salt onto your meals. You put it on there, and you get thinner. At first it sounds like the weight loss ring from Mexico, but then they tell you there’s science behind it. The particles once you digest them and sniff them (inevitably as you eat) get into your nose and trigger something in your brain that tells you your full. This means you eat less and so… assuming all other factors are equal… lose weight.
At first, how do you know whether to believe that or not? We’re not scientists. It could just as easily be a revolutionary breakthrough as a total pile of dung. We might never know either.
So you try these things in hopeful anticipation, and hope that you don’t go break in experimentation. Interestingly at this stage Sensa does seem to have some great customer feedback reports, like women losing up to 30lbs in a few weeks time, and yadda yadda yadda. Actually you can read some good Sensa reviews here. If you’re game and ready, you can also buy Sensa at this link.
Whichever you do, come back here and report your results so we can learn from your mistakes… I mean adventures too!
